When Lyla Got Lost Book Review

I absolutely love sharing our favorite books with ya’ll!  Especially when they’re both fun and educational like this new book from The Mother Co.: When Lyla Got Lost.  If you’ve never heard of The Mother Co., you need to check them out ASAP.  It’s a website full of references and expert tips for parents.  One of my favorite articles on TMC is Safety Sense for Parent’s and Kids.  It discusses when you should begin teaching your child about “Stranger Danger” and how you can go about doing so.
The Mother Co. also makes educational books and DVDs for kids!  This is their newest book in the Safety SeriesWhen Lyla Got Lost.  It’s a about a little girl, Lyla, who gets separated from her mother in a store.  Then it lists outs the steps she took to find her mother again.  It reiterates these steps at the end of the book, to help your child learn and retain.  I know one of my biggest fears is losing Hudson, so having a book teach him how to find me again is so special to me.  You can tell by his smile that he enjoys reading it as well!

  1. Thank you for posting this! I have a 8 month old and I know as soon as she starts to understand things that we will need to work on safety. I will definitely keep these books in mind!

  2. I have a 4 & 6 yr old and I'm always trying to find ways to explain certain situations to them. So thanks for sharing this.

  3. Oh I love this!! I'm always worried about how I will get Elliott to really listen when I tell him things. He loves books so I think this would be a great middle ground to teach a little lesson.

  4. Reading a book is a great way to teach children regarding steps to do in the case of getting lost. I retweeted and pinned this to share with others 🙂

  6. I love this book idea!!! My son recently just learned my phone number thankfully and sadly he had to use it the other night when his baseball practice ended early and we weren't there to pick him up. I am going to look into this company. Thank you for sharing!
