10 Reasons to Exercise and a Yummie Giveaway

10 Reasons to Exercise and a Yummie Giveaway by lifestyle blogger Jessica from Happily Hughes

I am so excited to start this Paleo challenge with you ladies!  To get us all pumped about getting fit, so I wanted to share with you 10 reasons to exercise, in hopes that it will get you PUMPED!  The giveaway is at the bottom!

10 Reasons to Exercise

Ok it was really hard for me to narrow this down to just 10 reasons.  I know that makes me sound like a crazy fitness enthusiast, but the reality is there are SO many benefits to exercising.  And the reason I am so passionate about it is I’ve seen and experienced these benefits.  But I don’t want to write a long ass post, and I know you don’t want to read one.  So my top 10:

  1. Working out increases energy.  I know that sounds counter-intuitive, and if you’ve just started an exercise routine you may not be feeling this yet.  But over time frequent exercise increases your energy levels!
  2. It’s time away from the kids/husband/work/dog/WHATEVER.  Exercise is YOU time.  So put your headphones on and focus on just YOU.  Not only will you feel better, but it’s a nice refresher to your day.
  3. It also relieves stress, anxiety, depression, and ADHD symptoms.
  4. It can also increase creativity!  I don’t know about you but I get writer’s block.  After a great workout (or a bottle of wine) is when I get my best ideas!
  5. Not only does sweating it out help detoxify your body, but it increases collagen production in your skin!  This can lead to youthful and healthy looking skin.
  6. Sick of getting sick?  Working out regularly has also been found to decrease the number of colds and flus you get a year.
  7. Burning more calories means you get to eat more calories!  I mean, let’s be honest: I workout to eat 😉
  8. You can lower your heart rate, blood pressure and bad cholesterol levels- just stay consistent and workout at least 3 times a week.
  9. You’re cutting the risk of cancer!  In a recent study of over 14,800 women, those that worked out the most had a 55% less chance of getting breast cancer.  There have also been links to lower rates of endometrial, lung and ovarian cancer.
  10. Because you feel SEXY!  That’s right- lifting weights and doing cardio increases your libido as well as overall body image.

I’m hiking the Salkantay Trek to Machu Picchu next month, so I could really use some Hannah Leggings!

  2. I have lost 60 pounds by exercising and dieting. I agree, though, I feel better when I have the exercise in the mix, I feel so much better – healthier, sexier, and more vibrant.

  3. Exercising is awesome, it’s been something that have kept me energized and productive ever since. Aside from keeping me in shape, it’s been helping me relax as well. These are all great reasons to exercise!

  4. Great tips! A good reminder that I need to start my routine. True that exercise is great for body and mind. I’ve heard a lot of paleo exercise but haven’t try it myself.

  5. I always sleep better when I workout. It doesn’t matter if I workout in the morning or the evening either. I just sleep better because my body had the chance to release that energy! Good luck with your challenge. I think Paleo would be hard to do!

  6. Exercise is so amazing for our bodies! When I ever I start training for a running event, I am always shocked by how much energy. I always think I am going to be tired spending an hour or two running, but I feel energized and ready to take on the day.

  7. As much as I dread it sometimes, I love the benefits working out gives me. I feel healthier and stronger and even notice I sleep better when I workout on a regular basis.

  8. I finally got to start exercising last week and I definitely feel a lot better despite the muscle pains. 🙂 Thanks for the giveaway!

  9. Great post! I would absolutely love to try the leggings if I win! Good luck to everyone and thank you so much for the opportunity:)
